The 5 Wardrobe Essentials: Part I

Want to know the deets on the must-have pieces for your fashion closet? I've got you covered. These are the everyday basics, the building blocks, the fundamentals of your wardrobe. The clothes you can constantly wear that will never go out of style. And I mean NEVER. Plus, they're always easy to revamp with the right key accessories (we'll get to that later). That 'nothing to wear' moment, ladies? I'm sure one of the items below solved that problem. Let me break it down!

1. Leather Jacket

The perfect outerwear for every season. Well, that is until it's about 100 degrees in the summer or below 0 in the winter, but you understand where I'm going with this. It's the stylish jacket that just gets better with time while the rest of your wardrobe changes. I currently have two hanging up in my closet that I'll probably never let go.

2. Blazer

I call it the transition piece. I suggest to start off with a black or blue style. With a blazer, it's easy to go from business to casual. Throw it on with a blouse and pencil skirt for a formal meeting. Or pull out your basics (white tee + blue jeans) and favorite converses for a casual luncheon. Both looks work perfectly.

3. White Tee/Button-Up
I couldn't decide which one was more important for my top 5 wardrobe essentials. So let's pretend the white tee and button-up are one item in this case. Both are needed for everyone's closet because they go with pretty much everything. The white tee is more on the informal side, while the button-up brings more of a professional look. I love to match them up with my distressed jeans to amp up my basic wear to more of an edgy ensemble, but there are so many other outfit options to try.

4. Dark Wash Jeans

I'm sure we've all worn the same pair of jeans at least twice a week. Hey, no shame in my game! Paired with a denim button-up on Monday. Check. Paired with a funky crew neck on Friday. Check. If you didn't know before, you know now. Your dark wash jeans are lifesavers! Wear them as you please, but change it up each time. No one will notice if you style them well. Thank me later.

5. Little Black Dress:

Remember that 'nothing to wear' moment I mentioned previously? Your Little Black Dress (LBD for short) is one of the many problem solvers. It's the go-to dress for almost every occasion. I never hesitant to whip out mine for a night out with my friends, especially when I refuse to over think coming up with an outfit. When styling a LBD, focus less on the dress and more on the accessories. It only gets better with the right additions.

The Accessories Edition is up next. Stay tuned!
